George worked at Crescent Wire and Cable Company for many years. While working there he went to Rider College and received a degree and promotion to Cost Accountant.
George and Esther enjoyed cruises, International travel and owned a travel trailer in which they toured the US and lived in during the winter months in Melbourne, Florida.
Original Member of Mercer County Church Steel Quoit League. Served as league President. Served as team manager for Christ Presbyterian Church.
Ordained Elder in Presbyterian Church-USA. Served as Elder and Church Treasurer for Christ Presbyterian Church. Senior Cost Analyst at TRW-Crescent Wire.

George married Ruth Marie Lockwood, daughter of Joseph Henry Lockwood III and Katharine Maria Burns, on Oct 4, 1936 in Elkton, Maryland.   Marriage Notes:

On Oct. 3, 1936 George and Ruth were on a date. He was 18 and Ruth was 15. They had gone to the NJ State Fair with his cousin Anna Mae Smith and her husband Bob. Of course, they sneaked into the fair through a hole in the back fence. After they left the fair they fell asleep on the sofa at George's parents home. When they awoke, at 1 am, Ruth was afraid to go home so far past her curfew. George then tiptoed upstairs to the bedroom and retrieved his latest paycheck from his dad's wallet. They left the house in George's Oakland automobile and woke up Bob and Anna Mae. The four of them drove to Maryland where George and Ruth got married.

George C was born on Feb. 24, 1938 just a few weeks before Ruth's 17th birthday.

Carol was born on Aug. 15, 1940 and died 10 days later, still in the hospital, from Spinabifida.

George next married Esther Simpson, daughter of Ernest Simpson and Margaret Liversage, on Oct 16, 1948 in Christ Presbyterian Church, Mercerville, N.J. (Esther Simpson was born on May 18, 1919 in Trenton, N.J, died on Jan 5, 2009 in Hamilton Hospital, NJ and was buried on Jan 9, 2009 in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.)
